On the show that will always keep you guessing — I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! — there can only be one winner. In certain episodes, the Australian public can vote their least favourite contestants off. The celebs can also choose to leave the competition early by saying the phrase, “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here.” In 2024, I’m a Celebrity’s Denise Drysdale was the first to go home, being booted off by the public.
But in a surprising twist, Denise seemed rather chipper about leaving the I’m a Celebrity production, a rugged set situated in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. At the impressive age of 75, Denise was excited to trade in this location for warm showers, a plush bed, and having electricity again.

In the very next episode, the former professional ironwoman, Candice Warner, went home. She too was voted from the jungle. Candice was followed by the child star Frankie Muniz and the personal trainer Michelle Bridges.
The remaining I’m a Celebrity contestants are all hungry to win this competition. In this series, the last person left is named Monarch of the Jungle and wins $100,000 for a charity of their choice.
Yet winning this series won’t be an easy feat. If the public chooses to spare you, the show’s challenges might prompt you to quit. In 2020, some of I’m a Celebrity’s contestants bungee jumped off a cliff. In 2023, the netball star Liz Ellis was challenged to eat a spiced pig anus. There are still plenty of 2024 challenges that will tempt the contestant to go home earlier than expected.
